I was eyeing those spey rods then remembered that most of the spots i fish are less then 20 feet wide... XD.

ya that makes it kinda pointless unless your fishing western tribs even then some spots its hard to fish with the spey but its so much fun if you want to try it the grand river spey clave is coming up in a couple weeks heres the link its pretty close to you and its free i pretty sure im gonna be there just waiting to see what my job says

Looks fun, count me in! You could definitely land fish with a 7wt depending on the water, but I love the control over the fish you get with a 9wt.
