Hi everybody, I am new at fishing Pikes, so wanted to know where in Ontario is great for fishing pikes? Especially, about 2 to 3 or so hours around Toronto. Also, what baits and technical methods should I use for them? Anyways, I hope some one can help me with my basic questions. Thanks a lot and have a great day.

I went pike fishing at the Toronto Islands yesterday with my buddy and we didnt catch any. They were definitely there though. I had one follow all day and we saw a dead pike with its tail missing that someone or something decided to leave on the bank. The lures we were using were big jointed crankbaits, mepps spinners, williams wablersan big minnow imitations. Like I said we didnt catch any, non of the fishermen i saw there did. We fished at various spots for about 15-30 mins and then we decided to move on. When we came to a deep wide canal we casted out had the only follow of the day and stayed there for over an hour. Anyways, I;ve heard the Toronto Islands hold decent pike, and i've seen them but I have yet to catch one. You can also fish for them along the lakeshore, And there are many inland lakes that hold pike (eg Musselmans Lake) Just make sure you only take what you need. Ensure there are fish for tomorrow, and NEVER leave a fish to rot, its illegal.

I've had success on my last two outings at the Islands. I saw tons of pikes in the shallows.

What about some where outside of Toronto, about couple of hours away like Peterbrough, Ontario and etc.....?
