New bass lures to give a try

Hey-

I've been bass fishing for a few years now, and I've been using the same types of tactics and lure styles for the duration of my time fishing, I have also picked up fly fishing as well. What I'm wondering is do any of you guys have lures that you like and use that don't really fall under the conventional lure types? I'm really just looking for new ways to catch my favorite fish.

Live bait is for noobs but does really work well.

I like;
drop shotting small minnow baits
Top water walking, prop or crawl baits
Weedless frog fishing
Jerk baits hard body or soft weedless style
Swimbaits!

Traditional I suppose.

Topwater action is a blast, I'd add Topwater poppers to the list,

One piece & multi piece Suspending Twitch Baits are great for slow, slow, slow fishing
Especially the multi piece Suspending Twitch Baits.

Topwater action is a blast, I'd add Topwater poppers to the list,

One piece & multi piece Suspending Twitch Baits are great for slow, slow, slow fishing
Especially the multi piece Suspending Twitch Baits.

Yeah, I love topwater, my personal favorite is a wake bait early morning, I also use poppers from time to time. I've never tried twitch baits, so I'll be sure to check them out, especially the jointed ones, I have usually shied away from them, but I'll give them a try for sure, thanks for your response!

Also try out buzz baits, they’re fantastic early morning as well with watermelon yum dinger or wooly bugger crawdad. make sure to use trailer hooks if you do use long plastic trailers. A great place to get some awesome bass, pike and musky lures is blackfly lures.” I’m not affiliated with them at all just love his products.” I might also add there very inexpensive.

I also forgot to mention. Lunkerhunt dragonfly and Yappa Frog. Love them for top water. If your using a bait caster with at least 30 pound braided line then try weedless punch rigs for undercut and bulrushes, I always tend to find the bigger hogs hiding out in those.

Give the smaller whopper plopper a try . We use the big one for Muskies and catch 4 and 5 lb Bass on them . I have the smaller sizes they work well on smallies .

Wake baits work similar to poppers, you'll like them.

Yes the Jointed Suspending Twitich Baits you can really get creative with
A quick twitch, then push your rod tip forward quickly to give instant line slack
The bait will turn 180 degrees for you facing opposite direction

How could I forget Spinner Baits & Topwater Buzz Baits.(with trailer hooks).
SpinnerBaits you can work the whole water colum, Great Search Bait.
& Weedless Punch Baits on braided line, No Leader !

River 2 Sea, Whopper Ploppers, come in 3 sizes,
Large & Medium are good for Muskies & Pike.
Medium & Small are good for Pike & Bass, amongst other things
They tend to lay a little sideways due to the prop.
This can be altered with a small piece of adhesive lead tape on the left underside to help balance it.

There are too many great lures for bass. I like to try and get deep in those willow trees shore fishing. Those big largies love hiding in deep cover and shady spots during the day just waiting to slay

A different cool way to try is the Neko rig.
You hook a senko up wacky and then insert a nail weight on the bottom end. It’s like a shaky head with wacky action.
Try it out, I’ve landed tons of LM with it.

3. Texas rigged Zoom super fluke

Lots of things will work.
Their nature is to eat.
Bottom line is what ever lure or jig your comfortable with fishing with.
You'll develop a comfort zone knowing how to work the lure.
To many people get caught up with all kinds of different lures.
Just use one style lure with different sized bibs for different depths.
Learn how the bait swims with different retrieval speeds & actions.
Pay attention to how the bait moves with different twitching & retrieving techniques.
It's amazing the things you can do with lures.
Just for starters.
Try twitching the bait, then instantly
moving your rod tip forward giving slack to the line.
Watch what the lure does.
If done properly you'll turn your lure 180degrees facing opposite direction.
Away from the bass your retrieving towards.
Sometimes he bass hits it instantly when you turn the bait away
Bass thinks lures running away goes for the easy meal.

Awesome rush when you see them hit !

Just go with the basics when bass fishing...there are so many methods to fish them but I don't really go out of my comfort zone unless I'm fishing all day and try new stuff. I do 2-4 hours of fishing and that's it so I'm out for blood and stay with what I know works.
One thing I can say...always have a stick bait and wacky hook when fishing gets tough...
