Hey I'm fairly new to fly fishing and I was wondering if anyone could help me out with what kinds of flies and what gear i should always have with me when out on the river!
I do a lot of trout fishing throughout milton, and on other rivers such as the credit, bronte, and humber and also fish for salmon.
So if anyone could help me out with what gear and flies i should have with me it would be much appreciated :)

Hey if you ever want to head out some time fly fishing let me know, Ill go with you, this is my first year fly fishing and im from Oakville. When I was at the Spring boat and fishing show this year by the airport, i got everything there, and I got like 15 flys from one of the vendors there, he set me up with different flys for everything, I can show yeah what I got as well, I remember what he said to use most of them for.

I would be more than happy to go fishing with another fly fisher! Seeing as my friends i fish with don't fly fish and they don't enjoy trout fishing unless its during the fall or spring runs I don't get out much because I don't feel like going so far to just fish alone!

I hear yeah, I only have one other friend who has a fly rod, and he's kinda lost intrest in learning it, and my cousin wont buy a fly rod till i learn it better and can teach him haha. So yeah I'm def down for going. I hear you on the driving, I like having someone to drive with for the longer drives, and than there while fishing, i really wana fly the grand river. But yeah we should def hook up and do some fly fishing. I'm usually game every night and all weekend, as long as I don't have to work during the sat Landscaping lol.

this is my life lol

The flies you will need depend on what river or lake your fishing to what time of year and time of day I am still fairly new to fly fishing this is my 3rd year but when I'm on the river I have at least 3 or 4 fly boxes with me it all depends on what hatching at that time. If your lookimg to get started theres an online fly company called reelflies there based out of London Ontario all hand tied I order from them when I'm to lazy to tie my own if to have any questions feel free to ask

Welcome new fly fisher. I mainly fish the credit because its close to home but I got a couple flies that have produce well for me. You gotta learn how to fish indicator rigs.

dry fly as an indicator with a wet trailing fly i believe

Thanks! I'll have to check out this company!
And yeah I have been told that i need to learn how to fish with a strike inidcator before but I havent gotten to that because I have not had a chance to go get strike indicators!

I see you got the email showing you that post as well eh. I think I know why its no longer posted, but i know that company, thats who I got all my flies from at the show this past spring...he had a booth set up there. I wont repeat the name for given reasons... :) I'm interested though for figuring out this indicator set up and trying it :)

yeah I for sure need to check out the sportsman's show next spring! It is just too far away though and i can't give up the fall salmon and trout season!

The salmon and trout cant get here fast enough lol. If we ever meet on the credit I could show you my setup. I have a Temple Fork Outfitters switch rod.

How's that setup doing for you? I'm still using a little 8ft beginner White River 5wt rod, I have been looking to get a new one recently but everyione just tells me wait until the sportman's show and i could get a good deal on a good fly rod, otherwise if i dont i need to buy one soon!
And okay sounds good, i need to see someone's actual setup to know what im going to need!

The sportsmen show have some deals on fly rods but are few and far between If you msg I will give you the name of a fly shop that does a used gear swap/sale in the spring and fall slot of high end rods for alot cheaper I got my 11ft 7wt for steelhead there and love it
