Hey! I was living in Carlisle and Waterdown back then, we were above the QEW :lol:
And there was "Bluegrass Canada" every year, also above the QE

hit bronte yesterday evening for ice out pike... jerkbaits... got completely skunked... worked the structure, the deep, the empty docks... not a strike or follow up...

a buncha folks fishing off the piers, lake side... pulled in a few browns and a rainbow.

some guy claimed to have accidentally foul hooked and released a six or seven pound smallmouth, but maybe the whiskey was too old on his breath to detect...

nevertheless, thanks goes out to those who pm'ed me with ideas...

maybe i'll try puslinch in the canoe this weekend, if the ice has left.

have to say you are all a friendly bunch...

There are some Bass of that size hanging around, but they are few and far between. Casting for Pike a few years ago in Hamilton Harbor I hooked and landed a huge Bass. As I was reviving it a CO showed up and stopped me. He said it was the biggest Bass he had seen in his 10 years working the area. ( Note. In all my years fishing the Harbor that is the only time I have seen him or any other CO for that matter.) Anyway, he weighed it at 6.12 lbs (?), I think it was.
He proceded to measure it and took some samples, DNA, fin(ger) prints and retinal scans I believe :lol: before returning it to me to release.
No whiskey involved, possibly a can of beer or 2. But I'm not even sure about that, it was pretty early in the morning.
