Yes Cats are a great fish to go after. Very strong and can get over 20 lbs in waters around here.
They are not jumpers, but will give you a run for your money.
They spawn late April or early May. So they are a great early fishing season fish to catch.

Alfie.

welcome aboard, and by the way, which has more fishpower, a catfish of a carp? just asking, cause ive never hooked up with a catfish big enough to spool me out like a 20+ lb carp

Never been spooled by a Kittie, but a friend hooked a 15 lber when we were in a rowboat a few years ago and it towed us around Jordan Harbor for 20 minutes. It also gave us a nice shower.

nice to hear that they could grow that big even in colder water conditions, like we have here in canada,

welcome to the forums! there's been a few catfish threads recently with good info on bait and such to use. Plenty of info so far, plus i'm sure you can find some budies to hook up with easily!

Welcome and I think carp are hard fighters too. Cats are great fun too. Dunneville on the Grand river all the way down to Port Maitland is a great place for early season channel cats.

as far as I can guess carp are as strong as they get caught 5 in the thames last year and was tired at the end 5 fish equaled over 100 pounds
