I have heard that they are getting fish at the harbour area now. Does anyone know if the fish are around there.

there has always been fish near harbours may not be the biggest, or cleanest, but they are there

Welcome - not sure what lurks there but do hear its carp paradise. Take a drive and talk with people even without the fishing rod.
