 Not that I will be giving anything away, just showing leg work does work.
A friend and I headed out to a known spot that holds Bass and Pike, it is a river with a few nice ponds and pools.
I noticed at one of these pools what looked like a small stream running in. I swam across and the water and that stream was ice cold.
Long story, short. That stream was filled with Brookies from 4 to 14 inches, judging by the lack of litter and the size of the creek, nobody even knows the trout are there.
Every pool I hit up, first cast.
No better meal than Speck

I know you are about Specks too Dozer, nothing makes me happier.
I may have had tears coming from my eyes when I landed the first 5 incher.

That's great! What were you using? A fly outfit? I have been trying the specks lately but they will not take ANY of my flies. What were you catching them on?

lol nice, so where are the iphone pics???
I still haven't figured out how to get them from the phone to the forum. I'm not what you would call technologically advanced at 50.
Also was not taking the iphone swimming with me Nado.

I will hold that spot, anyone that wants to go will be blind-folded on the way  .
The pool we were fishing for the Bass and Pike was fairly muddy, but I could see a clearer spot close to the far shore. I've fished there for 10 years and never knew that the stream existed. The high water gave it away. Hence my swim and good luck.
