New to trout fishing, need tips

Hello
so, i am new to trout fishing and i would like some tips and pointers on what tackle, rods and other things to use with a spinning rod.
I have recently found an abandoned pond in the middle of the woods, which has brook trout in it. I've never really gone for trout before
. i have 2 trout spinners but i need some measurements and brands for spinners, and different kinds of soft plastics and jigs, sizes, and maybe a few tricks for using them? any and all help is appreciated. and if websites for the bait(s) or supporting stores could be added id appreciate that to.

sorta, is that bad? if it is ill remove the post. but im more asking for bait than a reason, sorry.

not bad, just can get a bit annoying, keep it under one, that original topic started going into baits also.. ..

spinner, umm look at mepps, id try various sizes. bigger lure bigger fish in my eyes.. blue fox are alos good.. keep in mind that if that pond doesn't get much fishing pressure anything will work..

Are you somewhere where trout fishing is allowed in the regs right now? Most places don't let you go for them till end of April or some in January. Check your regulations.
That said, brook trout eat anything. If you plan on releasing them, which is a good idea, use a single hook. You can take the treble hook off a spinner and put a single on. With a treble, you'll just be killing them.

Trout is a great way to learn about fish behaviour and yourself. Some tips i’ve learn is to keep the sun to your back but don’t cast a shadow on the water. Trout have great sight and easily spooked. Using a longer rod will help and Fluorocarbon line with small hooks will give you the upper hand on catching the elusive trout. Start with something as simple as a 1/4oz or lighter jig head with a white twister tail tipped with a worm. Rig the worm so it looks natural and wear a pair of polarized glasses and see how the trout is reacting and adjust. Hope this helps
