Had the pleasure of getting away and heading down to the NIagara Region.
Gorgeous weather today.

Sun, No clouds ... Winds were low. High of 17C (for Nov 2)

Mike dropped by around 6am, and off we were to the Mighty Niagara.
New Pole & Reel for Mike.

Myself, on a "personal mission" to break last visit's Niagara Curse (Skunking)

*SMILES*

No expectations, other than to enjoy the beautiful day out.
_____________

Got down to the ROUND BODY of WATER (Close to the Falls - It's shaped like a Bowl) around Dawn.
Nice hike .... about 10 other guys fishing.

Immediately started the day (Coming out of the forest) to see some Shore Salmon doing the Nasty.
Good thing about that, there were some "OBSERVERS" wanting in on the action.

Lets just call them Mr. Bow, & Mr. Brown
Started with some Hardware.
Guy just down from us was pinning quite successfully with Roe.

I managed a beauty (Buck Steel)

Ended up with one "PISSED OFF SALMON". He didnt like us tryin to catch his smaller friends (Mr. Bow & Brown) who were hanging out watching the "Nasty"

Worked our way around to the Glen.

BIG SURPRISE!

At first ....we thought it was the BIGGEST BROWN ever
Almost lost the baby as it was about to swing by the rock and out into the Full Rapids.

Mike managed to keep it cool and under control.

Baptised his new rod!

Pulled this "Baby Right out of his Hat"!

Totally UNEXPECTED! ..... fought like a Champ.

Worked our way back, lost a couple streamers (Never had a chance to see if they were: Steel or Brown... or Maybe Lakers?)

Not a lot of Fish.
But a GREAT DAY FISHING!

Thanks Mike

100% Catch & Release

That's a real purdy Mr Buck (bow)!

I should really get down there someday soon...

A good time had by all....I was not expecting to catch a Carp on a floated pink worm!

thanks Blair, a good day fishing!

Nice catches guys. Congrats Mike first "fish" on new rod. :D

My highlight of the day was meeting up with Dann on the Rouge, we got skunked this time. But still always glad to meet up with a fellow OFF member!!!!! :-D

I picked up a Shimano Convergence on sale at Lebarons the other day.( The 10'6" light.) I was itching to try it out, so this seemed an ideal opportunity!
Lesson for the day was...if you free your set up from a snag, check the knots and re-tie!!
Unfortunately I didn't and a couple of casts after freeing from a snag I lost a fish when the swivel knot gave way. ( 6lb line)

Thats the kind of bow im talkin about, nice red stripe!

looks like you guys had a great weekday adventure.nice fish, thanks for sharing.must have felt great not to be skunked(bonus).weather looked great from the pics, the hike was well worth it.

Hi Everyone,

Blair those are great pictures...

I would love to go down to the Niagara to fishing for some nice Bows but I really have no clue where to fish or how to get down to the "bowl" as you call it. I've fishied mostly at Bronte, Gnaraska and the credet for Salmon and steelhead and they are great but I would love to try the Niagara. I would really appreciate if anyone could let me know how to get there (to the spot). I know we all don't like giving away our secret fishing spots on a forum, if thats the case, appreciate if you can email me at [email protected].

I would fully understand if I dont get a reply back... I will have to do it the hard way and find a secret spot of my own..."I Guess" lol.

Thanks
