Niagara River (Whirlpool ) HELP!

I would like to go down there some time to try it out, but are there stairs or paths that lead down there?

If so where are they? And where do you park around there? PLEASE any help or info would be great. Or are there other spots along the lower river that are good? If so where abouts, you do not have to give me any of your personel "hiding" spots. I would just like to try where else out to fish.
