you can throw the marabou jigs as well, but the thing to remember with fly rods, you aren't casting the fly, you're casting the line since the fly is so light
 
Sure you can, no rule that says you can't, but it is harder if you use heavier baits, be careful you don't go to heavy or you could break the rod.
 
that's true, but even the micro jig on the marabou fly is almost weightless, I find it that when I roll cast it, it barely lifts up the surface,,, eventhough I only go 6 feet of tapered leader as opposed to using the floating trout worm the line and leader unfolds quite nice, makes me feel like I know a little bit what im doing!!! but so far those are my observations on the stuff I attach on my fly setup!

There are actually a good number of guys who use spinners down south, so it does work, but there's really no need for it.
