SWEET!!! The sat before may 2-4 weekend, so May 9th. It shouldnt be to busy cause its still gunna be cold, so it wont be to busy there. I'm gunna leave at may 9th, unless i get a good amount of objections by tmr mid day.

haha, i like it when we get a bunch of people on in a day and A LOT of posts, it takes up soo much of my time to respond to everything i can respond to. I enjoy it,lol.

So everyone knows, its a pike only derby, its going to be May 9th 2009 at Toronto Islands. From 9am -4pm, with lunch from 12 pm-1pm.

What I'm going to need to figure out is BBQ situation, and what people could bring to contribute towards the BBQ, if everyone wants to do a BBQ, if not, than we could just all meet together at a certain time on the island, at a certain spot, and go from there.

Spend about 30 mins, for everyone to get aquatinted talk a lil bit, and than go fish, and everyone email me there pics, and than go from there.

So for those who do respond, When I get home from physio n gym tomorrow around 430ish, im going to make everything final. An everyone who reads this, its looking very good for us having some awards for the top 3 places. So if ur thinking, well nah, there could be some good things to won. When done the conversation about this, we will post and detail what the awards will be.

hold on, is the judging going to be done on the island? and if it is done by pictures, how will we know what thier size is?

not on the islands, just pictures, n pictures emailed to me. Just the biggest fish emailed to me. all cameras will have to be dated n time properly, there will be a peice of paper handed out, just take a pic of the fish with this peice of paper in it, and than right down the length, if able to do, take the pic with the tape measure in it. a lot of the sizes will be on good merit.

haha, I higly doubt anyone here would lie about it, since its all for fun, get together, and with the chance of wining something, which makes it better,lol.

n nice post ec1, i dont even know what to say to it,lol.

It all sounds good to me...May 9`th great, just great. I am in. Now if I can be of any help I will...The little bait and tackle I go to is closed for the season but should open in early april...I will inquire about a prize donation then. This is going to be much fun. And I am glad you moved it up to may...all the pike action is still going strong in may!! yee haa!! Hey Tangledline you IN?? Your going down! ooo yaaa!

Awesome! Thanks David. I look forward to hearing about the bait n tackle shop. Could u pm me with ur, email, so I can send you the flyer as well that could be posted at there shop to advertise it, and bring more traffic to the forums.

I look forward to more people telling me that may works really well as for everyone else as well!! :D:D

Because of the time of year, the ferry's aren't running as often. So the ferry option to start at 9, would mean catching the 8am ferry. So the derby will start for 930am, and have everyone catch the 9am ferry to center island.

What I am asking for from those of you who have been there, I would like to know the best place for us to meet. I am looking for this info, by 430ish today please. if possible??

"I believe you need to get a harbor license." your probably do but common just try it.

Launch from ash bridges or humber park on the W both free. If your interested in just zipping over in a canoe which I've done, launch at cherry beach and it's only a quick paddle across and voila your in there.

Way too expensive to rent a canoe in there they want 25bux an hour they gotta be kidding. That's 4 lures!

So in other words no boats allowed? I guess thats fair. since not everyone may or may not have a boat. I have yet to take it on lake ontario, don't really plan to until I upgrade to a bigger boat.

that is a rip off, you could either rent it for 40 hours or you could buy a canoe of your own
