Was able to head out to a local river with my brother, niece, and nephew on Sunday. We had been there the year before with only pulling smallies under 12 inches. This adventure is one to remember...

The first hole was around a bend where the river slowly came to calm along a cliffside. My brother pulled this guy out of the water after a few casts using a #1 panther martin..good thing he had a leader on because I didn't!

So down river we go, the river being 6" to 3' deep most of the way. We come up to the next honey hole FULL of smallies and this is the first one the came out!! It was the best fight I have had with a bass ever, and I was sure to set that drag perfectly as she was just a tank going up and down the current. Never surfaced once. By the end of the fight she was tired so I had to help her out. Enjoy..

My nephew pulled this beast out on the next cast..his biggest bass of his fishing career!

Since we had minimal time on the river and the distance from each hole was 20-30 minutes, we headed on to the next and final hole. Lots of strikes but this was the only one we landed.

I'm sure you are all thinking HOW BIG were they all, we didn't take a scale or measuring tape. But I did measure the bass on my rod, but left it up north..but my brother has messaged me and it was a whopping 20.5"!

Hope you enjoyed!

Any guesses on the weight and length?

Cheers

i'm his brother, amazing time! my son and I scouted the river the day before. seeing the smallies in there we had to come back. only had two hour for the scouting trip. that pike i was not expecting at all. can't wait to go farther. there are lare mouths in there also caught one the year before. alll and all, great day

great smallies you guys got into  , decent pike as well thanks for posting and sharing

the smallie was 20 1/2 inch, so the pike was 24-26 inch not bad for a river pike.

you know, its all nice to catch fish and all but I suggest if your going to post pictures of the catches in the honey holes. It would be greatly appreciated to let use know where the great spot is. Otherwise no scene teasing everyone about it. I just kind a find it rude. Just my thoughts.

Thanks

If you find it rude, don't read it. He has his choices and he chose not to include the location.

Really nice fish guys! Thanks for sharing.

Please don't post the location lol

Haha love this forum.

I read it for a while eventually joining because of the character of the fishermen on here. I thank you all for the support and time to chat about this amazing sport, and my first fishing report here on OFF.

As for the location...I am very confident in my forum career here at OFF that I will meet many of you and build the trust to share the honey holes we all achieved through the hard work of trial and error.

Until the next adventure,

Cheers

Nice fish and thanks for sharing the pictures... This will encourage everyone to not give up and keep trying knowing there is fish in these places for sure....lol I call it a fish buffet most of the time when they eat my bait and run...
