Was able to head out to a local river with my brother, niece, and nephew on Sunday. We had been there the year before with only pulling smallies under 12 inches. This adventure is one to remember...
The first hole was around a bend where the river slowly came to calm along a cliffside. My brother pulled this guy out of the water after a few casts using a #1 panther martin..good thing he had a leader on because I didn't!
So down river we go, the river being 6" to 3' deep most of the way. We come up to the next honey hole FULL of smallies and this is the first one the came out!! It was the best fight I have had with a bass ever, and I was sure to set that drag perfectly as she was just a tank going up and down the current. Never surfaced once. By the end of the fight she was tired so I had to help her out. Enjoy..
My nephew pulled this beast out on the next cast..his biggest bass of his fishing career!
Since we had minimal time on the river and the distance from each hole was 20-30 minutes, we headed on to the next and final hole. Lots of strikes but this was the only one we landed.
I'm sure you are all thinking HOW BIG were they all, we didn't take a scale or measuring tape. But I did measure the bass on my rod, but left it up north..but my brother has messaged me and it was a whopping 20.5"!
Hope you enjoyed!
Any guesses on the weight and length?
Cheers
