was playing with them both in store and grabbed the R type because honestly aside from a few aesthetic differences they felt identical.... the drag system is broken out of the box pretty much though...

I also noticed that they appear to use better bearings on the R type and found it peculiar

You are correct on the handles, I've read that the tolerances on the drifter are great as well. Between the two I'd take the drifter hands down.

yep, as you can see i just got mine today, and i love how it looks and feels. I tried both rtype and drifter and the rtype FELT cheaper
