TBH at our level brother--anything over 300 bucks is gonna feel like lefty himself made it for ya...cat if you wanna get together with us , I don't mind letting you try some goodies..and I know mad will give you pointers that will def help your fly fishing disorder to escalate o a full on disease.

Both Rods sound like nice sticks. Like Remy said when you get up to that price range I am sure they are all going to feel great.

For my money I think where you buy the rod is probably equally as important as which rod you choose. Having been bitten full on by Fly Fishing Aquistion Disorder I am been shopping for a number of items from a variety of sources. Customer Service has been outstanding and some and just horrible at others. Yes you have the mfg warranty on the rod but having the retailer/etailer in your corner sure goes along way.

at our level we also cant really tell the difference--IMO it takes years to really know what the dif is...I have tried fast tip--and fast action for instance (orvis is know for fast tip) they feelthe same to me but I have been told they are not..

Not sure if you are set on a rod yet but i recently bought an echo 1 carbon 3w for resi trout, great rod and so far not at all disapointed. In fact quite surprised with its 170$ casting like much more expensive rods. Plus all echo 1 rods carry their life time warranty which is especially nice for the lighter rods, anyways just thought I'd throw out another option
