Ahh sweet thanks bro , didnt target carp last year but after seeing some of the monsters in the grand im going after ehm
They are monsters! And they love to go on screaming runs. Aswell dont venture to far from your rod, they have a tendancy to take your bait and just go. I've been witness to a couple rods take off in the past.

Hey 420fisher. I'm gonna send you a PM. It's not a secret by any means, but please respect it. So many others don't.

LOL. I was at the Grand last night and a friend stuck a forked branch in the ground for me to lean my rod on. I thought of you post CA87 and similar stories I have heard and declined the rod holder.
Not 10 minutes later a huge Carp exploded from the water right in front of us. Keep a hold of your fishing rod if Carp are around or you may be looking for a new rod and reel

Did ya catch anything alfie? Ive been wondering about going fishing but the river is running so fast
2 nice Cats and a Smallie about 2 lbs. Photo and release, the bigger Cat was probably close to 5. Go for it 420, we had a great time.

The river is Running "Perfect right now"
I was down in Caledonia and Dunnville the other day (Sat)

Caught:

1. Catfish (Little ones)
2. Small Carp (Which is unusual, cause I only ever get the big ones)
3. Some small Silver/White Bass
4. 3 Rainbow Trout

All On worms.

Good choice opting out of the "rod holder". The good ol Y stick can cause more problems than anything..

Not only Carp either. The other night fishing with a friend, he broke off his line and I was turned away from my float telling him where he could find new hooks etc in my backpack. My rod and reel almost left my hands. I set the hook and thought I was fighting a big ole Carp. A number of minutes later when my fish came into view from the murky (at the time) waters of the Grand it turned out to be a Channel Cat of about 10 + lbs.

Right on alfie. I was juss out today threw every lure i had but didnt get anything. I did find a nice school of pickeral chilling out but couldnt get them to take anything. Boy was that frustrating haha. Ohwell think im gonna stick with worms till bass is open. Going to check out some new section that i havnt fished before tommorow. Hopefully ill have better luck

Try tossing bigger rapalas for pike and walleye, mostly pike though. You're always going to get bass in the area, the bigget baits may keep the littler fish away..maybe..or fish for carp with carp baits..
