So went to my cottage which is about 1.5hr north of Toronto. Fished for 5 days on 2 rivers. (Green river and Black River). It's cool because they are actually green and black and they meet up at a "T" intersection and you can pretty much see the line dividing the 2 rivers. Anyways here's a bunch of fish I caught. Nothing huge by any means but ALL of them fought like crazy. The pike actually jumped clear out of the water twice when I was reeling it in. Pretty much all caught on Topwater lures. (pike too!)

First the bass.

And the pike:

Baby size.

Ended up eating this one, cut him pretty bad in the gills. (still 26" long and 2.5lbish)

This one was my highlight. 4lbs and fought awesome. Caught on a topwater while trying to land some smallies. Sorry for the crappy pic of it.

I lost several good size bass too, they were spitting out a lot of lures. Same with pike. So I bought a sharpening stone and sharpened all my hooks to make sure they were hooked good. Only lost one after that

Nice photos, that last one looks like a musky eh...?

Love river smallies...they can scrap!

Good job!

Thanks, and yeah I'm still a little unsure if it's a muskie, pike or hybrid to be honest. The river I caught it in was PITCH black so I wouldn't be surprised if it was a pike. But it would be my first muskie if I was one!

I think you're safe calling that your first musky...
I got my first this summer, followed by my second a few weeks later, both caught targeting different species.

Congrats!
