If you get a jitterbug, get the larger size because it works better. I prefer the jointed rapala to the one piece. For crankbaits also check out the live target lures.

I got a husky jerk, never caught anything on it but it looks pretty realistic.

then your working it wrong, try a sharp snapping action followed by a long pause.

I am really liking the standards X-raps, Husky Jerks, Jointed. The first two I work with a sharp tug tug snap pause reel in slack slash slash tug pause retrieve to get a nice slashing/wounded motion out of them. The jointed I don't use to much but I usually just vary my speed/pauses trying to find something that works. I usually use these to get the pike to come out and play.
For bass I am all about drop shotting larger (7") strike king finesse worms. Still the most productive method for bass for me.

I like fishing the Lily Pads for Bucket Mouths. I Retired the Hula Popper my Grandfather taught me how to use 15 years ago. I have 3 of them in my Box. Nothing like that thing getting SMASHED by Any Size Bass when you're Popping that across the Pads!!!
Pike? Still having Good Luck with ANY size Williams Wobbler, usually silver. I also Epoxy a GLASS Rattle on the Concave side. Mepps Muskie Killer works prety good also but I RIP it then Pause or just Retrieve like a Crazy Guy. The Williams is usually a Medium to Slow Retrieve so it "SideSlips" Back and Forth, easy to handle in weed beds.
Also the Old Stand by Red Devil, Red and White Spoon also with a Rattle.
I'm about to try some "Whacky Worming" for the Bass. With the price of Decent Worms today I'll also be using the "O Ring" thing or in place of that some other ideas I've seen. (It's a Secret)

I love the husky jerk ive caught so many fish on it, ive caught pike bass and bluegill all on the same lure. Its very versatile and great for springtime pike!

If your older than say .... 35, you call them "RAPALAS"

I didnt know what the HELL people were refering too when they said "Husky Jerks" ... for the longest time.
Back in the day, RAPALA was one of the few who made imitation minnows.
Darn good ones as well.
90% of them were FLOATING (Blue or Black with white belly/ Different Sizes and then one option of JOINTED)
The Deep Divers, were almost 100% the same .... except they just had the LARGER SCOOP (plastic) at the front.
To this day I typically just refer too:
Rapalas - (Minnow)
Mepps - (Spinner)
Flat Fish
etc.
You "kids" now a days *SMILES* have such a complicated world of lures.
Good on yah!
ps: I have caught almost every single type of fish on a BLUE RAPALA (Basic Floating Model)
One of the best lures of ALL TIME!

Haha that is true! And I actually also have a floating blue rapala but it is jointed and I have had much success with it as well!
I was recently left this bait on the side of my boat by a fellow angler who was staying at a lodge on the French River. He did tell me the manufactures name but I can not recall at this point. Does anyone know the name of the soft plastic rat bait or who is the manufacturer?

My dad used to carve his own flat fish out of Jack Pine in the 1930's and he fished with them as a kid I can remember fishing with a bait casting out fit in the 1960's using his same hand carved lures in the Kaministiquia River....thanks!.... :wink:

"O" Rings are NOT necessarily "Key" for Wacky Rigging, they are also the most expensive($3.00 for 20) way to go along with the "O" Ring Rigger.
There are at least 4/5 other ways to go, such as feeding the Shank UP through the worm and coming up and through the top, and the Hook gets inserted into the bottom of the worm
Also a Pen casing taken apart and used as the Rigger with Elastic Hair Bands Turned Twice.
A guy I know uses X-Small Electric Line Ties (Pull Through unti tight then cut off) $2/$3 Bucks for a hundred or so.
You can also insert small Brad Nails in the ends of the worm to make them "Bow More" and Gyrate more than a Plain Worm. Etc. ETc. Etc.
While we're on the Topic of "Different Lures" I bought the "Live Target" 3-1/2" Top Water Field Mouse $12.00 (Below) last Spring. I had to buy 2 more during the Summer. BIG Bass and BIG Pike just devour them!! I might Retire my Hula Poppers!! ...LOL..
There are many different Means and Techiques to catch Fish. All you have to do is get all the "Filters" out of the way that (Who Knows?) put their in the first place.
