hello guys im heading up to Thunder bay for a fishing trip on the first of august, im aiming for pike while a friend of mine is going for bass... i told him to try my jitterbug lures, they always worked for me, but im wondering if that's to late to catch some big pike ? this is the first time we are trying this lake out. i don't know how deep it is. but i was thinking about using a red and white daredevil, ive caught a few pike on jitterbugs before but just wondering what will nail some big ones. thanks. on a side note if we try out trolling what lures would you suggest to catch pike or is this not a effective way ? and once again suggest some good lures out of your experience.

Try and find out what the pike are feeding on i.e shad, perch Then take it from there, try and replicate what they are feeding on. Can't go wrong with chuckin or trolling spoons, bucktails

Try some large cranks...perch in look...long stops and hard reeling and long stops seem to work...also large spinners. What lake are you going too?? and good luck.

Pike are pretty aggressive pretty much anything you throw out them should work especially in those parts. Try blue and white original Rapala floater or jointed floater. X-Rap should do the job as well.
