Hey Gang,

I was just wondering if anyone can suggest some good pike lakes within an hour or so from Toronto for a day trip of fishing? Looking forward to getting out in my fishing kayak to get some action! I know Simcoe is a popular lake, but looking for a body of water that isn't so big.

I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Thank you, Glenn

One location you might consider is Lake Scugog. It is conveniently situated less than an hour's drive from Toronto and has a positive reputation for pike fishing. The lake provides both peaceful areas for kayaking and ample space for casting a line.

Another potential location is the Holland River. This river feeds into Lake Simcoe and could offer an excellent opportunity for pike fishing. Moreover, it is a notably scenic location, making it an appealing choice for kayaking.

Hey Earthworm, thank you for those suggestions. I didn't think Scugog had any pike, but muskie? You're right though, great locations. Thank you!

Glenn

Simcoe has good numbers and some big fish. Cooks Bay is probably the best place to start.

Lake St John, near Casino Rama, has lots of pike but mostly smaller fish. It's protected tho, and a good option if it's too windy for Simcoe.
