Amazingly, over 30lbs is not *that* big of a deal out of Lake O, 25lbs is quite common. I guess we should count ourselves lucky to have such big fish here!
I'd have to say yes to that your Rainbow Trout are also much bigger than ours...FishermanDan from Hamilton has caught a dozzen or more over 10lbs out of the Lake Ontario tribs.. I believe his biggest was 18lbs out of the Niagara River we can't compete with that again I think Lake Superior is probably a bit cold for their liking as well salmontrutta..it seems much better suited for specks & lakers as is Lake Nipigon... :)

I'd take big specs over rainbows any day.

I've already caught a few steelhead over 15lbs and I've only been steelheading 3 years. I wonder how much of it is water temps, food availability or strain used to stock the lakes.
