Hi all,
I want to try ice fishing for the first time in the new year when the weather is appropriate and the lake is all frozen. I have been asking around. I am deciding whether or not to go to Lake Simcoe, or continue ice fishing at Lake Scugog.
I was wondering if some Ice fishing pros could give me some advice as to where to go. I know there is ice fishing at Scugog and simcoe but I dont know who to go to, to rent the huts and equipment from and plan the trip. Are my chances better at catching more fish at Simcoe over Scugog? Which location is better for a beginner ice fishermen. I've bought a ice rod from Bass pro shops and look forward to using it. What kind of baits should I use on a ice rod? Are there any specifics, or does the normal baits used during the summer work fine?
I would appreciate any tips, advice, and locations and even contacts for hut rentals, etc and even prices.
Thanks all,
Happy Holidays!
