storm ponds can bring in some nice catches. specially after a rain. watch out for snapping turtles though, this seems to be where they mostly hang out. the bigger sizes...

Almost walked on top of a 18inch snapper a cpl weeks ago in the grand! He had so much seaweed growin on him, he looked like a rock.

That bass is at least 6 years old... people need to value these fish because, it would take another 6 years for a new minnow to grow that big...

Your Bass looks very healthy. Monitor the pond, and if they try to drain it, send a request to the government to spare the Bass. I've done it before.

you may attach the photos as evidence. Lucky for me there are red horse in my pond, so i can defend my pond with a threatened species and prevent them from ever draining mines.

Unfortunately... people and herons eat the bass... it's part of the circle of life... when they die... they become the grass...

Very nice catches! I love how they took the artificial baits. I catch mines on worms, which cost me some money.

This is a sunfish from one of my fishing spots. Caught on worm. I will try similar baits to you so i don't have to keep buying worms.

This is a larger LMB on caught on another day. Because you were kind enough to show what lures you used on your bass. I'll show you what I caught it on, but I switch up all the time, trying different colours, brands, lures, etc. I find live baits work the best. The problem is tournaments only permit artificial baits, so hence I'm practice plastics and rapalas, and even mimic minnows.

I tried the same grub colour at the lake and rivers and there was no strikes... but there's supposed to be more fish bites at the lake...

I get the most bass on this worm brown colour.. The logic is that... it's the same colour as a worm... and the worms work the best. So as a plastic worm, the panfish can't nibble away the plastic and the bass still strike hard.
