I will probably come on Friday morning.

I have never been to Port Credit - hopefully I will find the spot where you other guys are.

May I ask - what are you using, salmon eggs or spinner bait or something else ?

So far, I was only fishing for catch salmon (during salmon run) in a small creeks using salmon eggs. Any input, suggestion or advise will be much appreciated.

Well... as for Pier fishing... I mostly cast out spoons in hope to hit a jumping salmon while airborn and snag it.

No I am just kidding... about that. But most of people there cast spoons during darker hours. Mostly Glow in Dark lures.
When it gets little brighter, few people start using hard minnow bait lures like Rapala which almost always results in a bigger chinook salmon than anything else.

Thanks MikeyMikey,

I meanwhile I managed to get a couple of times to Credit River and observe - people were using exactly what you said.
Actually, if I am not mistaken, you were on Credit River this morning (guy in red hood, rod with tip glowing) - am I right?

Lots of people this morning, but I only saw about 5 salmon landed, I hope it will get bit better then that. Unfortunately, I still did not manage to get my salmon, these first trips I count as learning experience.

MikeyMikey (or anybody else who might know) could you please tell me where I can buy Glow in Dark lure (spoon)?
I got one that is glowing but barely - it is not glowing enough.

Oh no. I've been spotted!

As for Glow In Dark Cleos you can buy from just about any tackle store.
Goto http://www.LeBaron.ca and check their store address.
You can always stop by BassProShop.

Or You can visit this little takle store near Highway 401 & Islington? called JB's FISHING DEPOT. Not a huge store but it's is fully loaded with so many stuff that it's hard to walk around there :) I say they got more variety of stuff than BPS. or LeBarons. Espeically for Musky stuff and salmon stuff.
Just ask the guy there for a recommended spoon for casting from pier.
When I went there, guy recommeded a spoon with a SuperGlow (which btw glow like 10x better and 10x longer than cleo.) But don't get the longer slim 1oz spoon which does not cast as good compare to smaller design 3/4oz, I think it is because longer slim design catch too much air while casting.
BUT, Fishing Depot is little bit more expensive.

Anyways, store is located right here!!
http://maps.google.ca/?ie=UTF8&ll=43.69 ... &z=19&om=1

I also recommend Camera Flash light to charge this superglow. Where as Glow in dark Cleo charge up more than good enough with regular flash light.

all little cleo spoons are on sale at walmart right now. all the 3/4 oz. ones are $3.00. not a lot left as of now though.

I think I will go by JB's FISHING DEPOT tomorrow and get that stuff that you recommended. Probably on Friday I will be back to the pier, hopefully better "armed" and to finally get my salmon. Maybe will meet then? Because you do not know me , I think I should come by and say hi to you? ( By the way, it was easy to recognize you because of the photo (you with salmon) that you posted on this web site.

Thanks

Hey Blacksparrow.
If you want ot give it a shot yourself, you can go to Bowmanville area, south of you,but probably a 4 hr drive. If ya decide to make the trip let me know and I can fill you in on what you need.
Disspatcher

Wouldn't Port Hope be closer?

I remember when visiting Port Hope for the first time last year. There were few guys in a truck fully loaded with stuff to stay few days or overnight or whatever just to fish for fresh run of salmons. They were from Ottawa aswell.
Heck,,, I've seen people in a tent @ POrt Hope!

Yeah...I've heard of Port Hope too, it's ain't any closer compare to Bowmanville, but I don't mind trying. 4 hrs drive is pretty far though. So if any of you don't mind....the exact location to drop the line and how to get there would be very much appreciated.

Anywhere in the Kingston area that is good for salmon? I've got Monday off....so I'll probably head over west right after I finish work on Sunday night. Maybe some of you guys can give me some pointers.

i think disspatcher can show you some areas closer to your city.

and yeah since it is a long drive for you... you should definitely camp out or something.

Gotta enjoy while the action lasts.

OH! and Please do equip yourself well with proper gears. Especially a Big Net with Loooong handle.
