Port Credit: Salmon “pier” fishing tips for noobs

Openfire, can you update the original post to include information regarding 'wind conditions' aswell?
 
do you think this would work on most piers that have rivers where salmon run? The huron tributaries are more accessible for me, Bayfield, Goderich etc. I usually end up going when the fish are upstream with my float set up. Do you think if i tried these techniques around the same staging time frame it may work?

time frame may differ a bit but fishing tips should be same
 
any update in port credit? are they hitting now? maybe next week i will try it there and starting giving update again in port and erindale peace :)
 
yeah are you talking about staging at the mouth or already in the river?

because i can already think of two places that may have them.

some just get lucky get caught those few that just happen to be near the shoreline for feeding only...

heck,,, i remember few years back when i was fishing for pike during may.... i say a SALMON swimming around some marina at harbor front... so...

When I went on July 22nd, a little south of lakeshore rd, I saw a large fish jump in front of me about 10 feet from shore.
I' m not sure if it was a salmon, looked dark coloured, probably a bass.

probably a carp.

seen most of those jump in front of me.
 
Anyone know of any good glow spoons? and where i can get them...i bough a glow little cleo and it doesnt last more than 4 casts
 
I forget the brand but I got one that lasted so long last year...I wish I could remember.

Also a camera flash will give you a much longer glow.
