Preston Lake access (Candian record LM bass lake) in GTA!

lol, they're soo protective of that lake, that they put up all of these conservation signs (as a deterroent) right around that residental area of the pond, my buddy told me when he went there recently with a friend that used to live there, he noticed that nobody was fishing it anymore, or at least from what he saw that afternoon. He also told me, that even if you are a area resident, you can only bring at max 2 people, 2 people, thats it ?!?! what happens if you have a 4 family members + a few guests, what, you're not allowed to visit your own pond ?, LOL, anyways, thats retarded, its the last place I would ever buy a house anyways.

I have fished Preston Lake lots of times (back in the 80's before all the house were build) there is monster bass in this lake and I have caught a few 5lber's there.
I always had my best luck tossing purple worms around.
It was (is?) a very weedy lake the weeds are just about from 1 end to the other

I still remember 1 time reeling in my line and seeing a mouth so damm big it scared the hell out of me.

I was just reading a few sites on the lake and it looks like it is a catch and release only lake now due to lots of ppl. catching and keeping fish out of season.
so the bass population might be low and small for a few more years

Maybe the next course of action should be talking to the city about whether there is any public access to this lake. You may be pleasantly surprized to find that some of those private sign are not legit and that there is city owned land that can gain access.

The Lake itself is not private, just all the property leading to it. Nothing you can do but open your wallet for about 1.5 mil!

I would question whether all the land is private and I wouldn't be surprised if there are signs saying it is private when it actually is not.

Usually the town gives a area to most lakes to provide public access. It is rare that there would not be public access to a lake.

It appears that the government lacked foresight when they sold all the parcels of land surrounding the lake, leaving no public land access whatsoever. From what I've been able to dig up, this appears to be the case.

Seriously though, I believe that there might be a case here to have the government expropriate some of the land to allow for public access. If enough people ,UH, "Voters" were to raise a big enough stink, the wheels could be set in motion. In this case, the Preston Lake Home Owners would have to fight the government in court to prevent it. No $ out of our pockets.

Otherwise, you would probably have to sue the government to force them to expropriate the land. Mucho $$$, unless you could get a law firm to do it pro bono... Very unlikely.

Either way, I would personally love to see this happen!
