Rainy River Walleye

Thats a 1/8oz Northland shakeyhead jig. The crew locks the bait into place, and you can rig the worm weedless or have the hook exposed. This isn't a typical walleye jig, there mostly used by bass anglers. But as you can see, I was greatly rewarded in my approach on these days!!!! Shakeyheading walleye!!! Woot woot!!!

Well I hear that fish will bite a new presentation, so by using a bass rig for walleye it worked. Did that make any sense?

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Man those are some beautiful fish. I will have to try out the Shakey heads. I personally know the best way to forget the world is to make a big hoot catching some nice fish. My condolences on your families loss.

GREAT REPORT!

Many thanks guys, I'm very happy you all enjoyed the report!

I'm good now, my uncles life was celebrated, not focused on his death. He was a great man, he taught me alot, I'll keep that with me and pass it to my kids.

If anyone here ever gets the chance to come up here, let me know. I'll gladly take anyone out on the water for some remarkable fish!!!!!

It's new to me, so I have to work on the patterns. But yes, please try them out, if it works on other bodies of water you can help me develope how/why/when/where it works!!!!

It was serious though, I've caught tons of big fish in my day, walleye included, but pre spawn, I've never seen big walleye smash a bait so hard and so consistently, it was insane!!!! (I did this on my own too, I'm not a sponsored angler, lol)

GREAT REPORT!

I should mention, that was the only fish on that bait (live Target golden shiner). I only took a few casts with it, but I was essentially jigging it off bottom, in case anyone was wondering.

Walleye opener here in two days!!!! Can't wait!!!!

Great story it really hit home. Have been through similar situation and really getting out helps me so much to feel like I am still connected. If you do not mind pm me with help finding a place to get these beasts it would be greatly appreciated, I just moved back with my son to Stoney creek and we live going for walleye but do not know where to go. Thank you again for sharing. It put a smile on my face to see others feel the same way I do when you get out.
