I had a 10' 7w in the garage missing 8 inches of tip, and thought id try a spey line on it. Seemed nice so into the workshop i went. Found a suitable butt in my inventory of casualties, sawed off 5 inches and epoxied a bolt in it. Then i drilled and tapped the butt of the reelseat to accept the 5/16 bolt. Seemed alright, but the plug in the butt came out, so i epoxied in a nylon lockin nut in the seat behind "butt plug". Came out better than i thought for a quick jobbie and blasts a 350gn scandi body a country mile. Now i need some steel to really test it !

Sweet. Gotta love making stuff that works from stuff that was sitting around

If you have any bigger skagit lines lying around you can always cut one down, Ive got a 12 foot roughly 300g on my 5 and its beautiful

I have a couple airflo skagit shorts that are 19 foot heads which could be nice on a 10 ( Ive got them on my 10'7) maybe even a rio switch chucker

Was just looking at them too. I have the skag short 480 and 510 for my switch and spey. The 360 might work at 18.5 ft. I might wait and see what the new switch streamer is all about and see if.i can make the scandi.body.work for now
