Rice Lake Master
Went out yesterday with a buddy of mine Howie who up until yesterday has always been skunked on Rice Lake. He never catches anything while I always seem to catch something. He is no fish whisperer. So yesterday was a much diffrent story for him. He caught a monster rock bass, have never seen anything that size before, he caught a couple of OOS bass and caucht a walleye ouside the slot., 24".
We were out early in the morning for a couple of hours we and caught a few OOS bass. I also managed 2 jumbo perch and lost the biggest crappie of my life, it was the size of a small frisbee and imitated a smallie as it made quite an acrobaticg jump out of the water. After his leap the hook came out, very disappointing.
Our 2nd stint on the water from about 10:30am until 1 pm yielded a few more OOS bass and a total of 3 walleye. A managed 15 and 19.5inchers and he landed a 24" that was released.
A great day on the water and the weather was amazing. We fished in 10-15 FOW around a nice mid lake weedbed. We pitched and dunked in pockets and casted around and through the weed edges. The bait that seemed to work were slammers on a jig and white mister twister grubs.
