rod difference

what is noticably different between and 8 ft medium flex 4 wt and a fast 8ft 6 4 wt

would the softer one be easier to cast in tight rivers or the faster rod--feedback would be most appreciated

you are going to use only dry flies right? not weighted nymph

Rod action is completely subjective. What feels med fast to one caster might feel different to another that is used to a different action. It also varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. It would be easier to compare if we knew what products you were looking at.

st croix imperial 8 ft 4wt fast action
i will be tossing dry flies--small nymphs..i think.

i was just asking with regards to presentation and uses--would i use fast action for larger river, medium for softer presentation in tighter streams...etc
