Rouge Hill Beach Park -May 10 08 -Carp Special

Today morning along with my friend we decided to go Rouge Hill Beach Park for pike and cat fish.We reached there around 8:20am.There were lots of people fishing when we reached there.It was nice and sunny & water was also clear then 5 days ago.First i started targeting pike using Meep's Aglia Dressed Treble size # spinner.Tried all different spots but no luck.Tried other stuff but no luck.All today i got was infant suckers.Released it.I saw some people catching catfish.There were 1 guys catching big carp.He caught 2 big carp.Just using normal technique.link with egg sinker & corn on hook.It was great fight he had to land aprox 17lb carp.See pic below.Did not stay long as i had go for work.I will go again there for sure for carp and will post result.In the mean time enjoy pic below.

This was very nice carp, must have put up a good fight. I find carp is fighting stronger then most fish of the same size.

hahah...that small net reminds me of last year when i tried to net mikey's salmon. it was obviously too small hahah.

i was here day before yesterday.Got skunked.Saw only 2 carp & 1 cat fish being caught.Water level is still high.Last year we got lots of cat fish from here.Not sure where are they now.
