Just started seeing the commercials for the new Sail Superstores opening in Vaughan and Oshawa on Wednesday. Has anyone been to the one in Ottawa? Are they good prices? I'll go and check one of them out, suppose to have a huge opening day sale. Not that I need anything. Got way too much stuff already......lol.

Yah its a pretty good store, There prices are about average give or take on some things. The one thing i do like is they have a good selction of steelhead stuff that Lebaron dose not have

MORE CHOICES! always good for all of us.

Some smaller stores (Independants) have real good service
Some BIG stores have more selection
Some stores/shops are just convenient locations
Some have "Hot Chicks" working at them *SMILES*

What ever the appeal ... great news!

I wish them well.
If they offer good fair value and good service .... I bet they will do just fine.

ps; Have been to the one in Ottawa ... it was good.

"I used the word "good" way too many times .... I'm tired and need to go to bed"

Anyone planning on going? Not much info on what "Grand Opening" specials available. Neither one of the stores are close to me. If any goes, what did you think of the sale and the store. Thanks.

They said on the news that it will be a tax free sale day.. with added discounts.
-I may swing by to check it out on the weekend... Nothing I really need though.

Added discounts usually on stuff that no one really wants or old stock from their other store. I'm just a bargain hunter always looking for a deal. If I was a fish, I'd bite every lure...........lol.

Sail Outdoor Superstore Grand Opening Today min 20% off No HST

Hello everyone, Sail has just opened their store in the GTA area. They have some good deals with min 20% off and no HST. I have been looking for a good fish finder and I know this is a pretty good deal for this as Bass Pro sells for alot more the Humminbird 798ci HD SI combo for $899.99. I'm just happy to see another store that can compete with Bass Pro as much as I love them they are expensive.

I went to the store in Oshawa yesterday. The prices are lower than Basspro and higher than Le-Baron in general, except a few items (hooks, some floroucarbon lines, etc). The discount was about 11.5%, less than then promised HST free (13%). Noting that Le-Baron also has a taxt-free event and you can get 10% off (if you are a member), then still I think Le Baron is better overall.

The selection for fishing stuff was way less than Basspro and even less than Le Baron. For example, they had only 3-4 types of float rods while Basspro has plenty and lebaron has more than 5. Also, they had only 5-6 waders, not a single booted one. So in general, my impression is that for fishing gear, it has the basics, slightly more expensive than LeBaron, much better than Basspro. Conveniet places if you go North or East.

That's great reporting. I did'nt get a chance to go and looks like no rush to either. Their commercial at the end included work clothes, well there's Mark's for that and many others. So the commercial itself makes them sound like they are not dedicated to sports such as hunting and fishing as Bass Pro and LeBarons. If they have less selection then sounds like it's a go to for emergency resupply on your way out to a lake. Or if you're like me forgot something essential and can't or too far to go back home.

Thanks for saving me the time and gas going out there.... ;)

Did you check into the Coghlan's metal case hand warmer? A bud of mine was asking about it. All I could tell him was my price from 20 years ago, they were about $5 or $6 each then. Each box of 12 fuel sticks were $2. I don't know what they cost now. IMO they are the best and most economical way to keep fingers warm. You only have to buy the case once and the sticks are cheap to replace.

Went there yesterday and a friend picked up a SIMMs Guide Jacket with a MSRP of $349. The deal was 20% off and no HST, so the total came out to $275. They even do price matching and after doing the math, had he bought it after the sale, it would've been $339 (price match + hst).

Like all deals, you'll have to do some digging to get them.

In total, he saved 33%

SIMMs Freestone jacket is $160, which is also a good discount too.

well i have to say sail beats lebaron and canadiantire and all the other fishing shops around here, selection is rediculouse they have a 100 foot wall full of diferent lures of all kinds and makes you still have to watch out cuz some stuff is over priced but like 85% of it has competitive pricing they have almost every kind of line you could think of(even a couple wierd japanes ones) and they custom order lures if you bug them enough,, on the fly fishing and float fishing there not the best for selection ill admit but its not like its a very big trend out here lebaron is defenitly dominant on that side of fishing... but for everything els sail is killing the competition... and i love the fact that you dont need a receipt to return stuff as long as you set up en acount... my cuzin bought a 2 piece jiterbug and lost the back end of it while casting 2 months later decides to bring it back just for fun and they switched it for a new one no questions asked....

anywayse thats my take on sail...

and the staff are realy cool to there not anal about giving tips and spots...

Found a boat load of deals on clothing.. Nothing much I needed in terms of trib fishing tackle or apparel.. but they did have some pretty good sales going on.
