NEVER lock down your drag setting .Either manually or mechanically.
Bring fish in with a side sweeping angle not a direct 90 degree tip to butt force.

Yeah it was my fault for having the drag a little too tight.
Now I'm stuck using a Shimano Sojourn 7 foot medium fast action rod for float fishing until I get a new float rod. lol
Do you know of any good rods that you would suggest. I can only pay up to 100 dollars as I'm only 15 and I don't have a part-time job.
My previous rod was an Amundson 9 and a half foot medium light fast action (paired with a Shimano Sienna 2500).
