Salmon Run???

Hey

I guess the salmon have started running up the Granny, does anyone know how long they will be running. I was planning a trip Sept 15 and was wondering if they will still be there??

There is no set time as to how long the run lasts, but it generally lasts until at least well into October, so you'll be good to go on Sep 15.

I was worried that it would be too late. I missed the Steelhead this Spring because they came early, and I did not want ot miss this...You think this is a bit early this year? What determins that they start the run?

Steelhead are always early!

Trout season almost always opens after the main steelhead run is over. You usually are only able to get the odd few dropbacks after opener and this is by design. You gotta get 'em at the river mouths up to the CN tracks from February to April/May. If you wait till trout season, you'll have missed 95% of the action!

You don't have to worry about missing the salmon run.

The 2 main factors are water temperature and water flow.
