Hey Cat:
How about an introduction...tell us a bit about yourself...what spins your crank bait brother?

Welcome aboard...

Try some Cleos off the piers on the southern shores...look for offshore winds...

not trying to undermine my associate Chase, but in my 15 yrs exp salmon and steelhead fishing i have found "onshore" winds to be most productive for harbour and mouth fishing. When the wind blows onshore it churns up sediment and creates mudlines also it creates a tidal effect refferred to as a "shiesh" that raises water levels in lower stretches of tributaries. this august 9-10 we were fishing ganny pier the onshore winds were so strong that the waves were topping over the peir and the fishing was on fire! All you can really do though is get out there and do your own work and develop your own patterns, and methods. happy fishing!

I think those fish were runnin up at that time and you hitem right. When the fish aren't looking to run upstream, onshore winds will only bring in the skunks!

This morning i was in hamilton harbour fishing in the canal. I didn't get a bite but I did see a 15 pound dead chinook float by. I did get an eleven inch sculpin though which was kind of cool.

No worries GBD...on-shore or off-shore, I have always found there to be well defined transition zones. On the south shore here, it seems an offshore breeze tends to be best...

Ultimately, get out and cast some...keep track of the conditions in a journal and your successes...

While many were at home waiting for north wind there was a handfull of ppl smashing the snot out of them especially on the 9th before word got around. NW wind fish GB harbours SE wind fish Lake O harbours thats my experience but to each thier own.
