Good day ladies and gents, how goes the battle?

I'm just wondering where everyone was fishing Saturday and for what?

My options are Bloomingdale ponds for pike, perch and crappie.. The Grand below Elora for carp, pike, bass etc... Cootes Paradise for monster carp..

But if someone else is fishing and wouldn't mind a "tag along" I'd love to come and pick a brain and hopefully catch some fish lol.

I can fish from 5ish am till about lunch and then I'm taking my son to Owen Sound to his grandparents, they live a stones Throw from the Bay.

Correct, but how do you tell a bass not too bite your hook? I'm not going for bass, I never target bass when I go out yet always seem to land a few.
hahahahahahaha!!! ask him politley i suppose.

how is the fishing at bloomingdale ponds? ive never been, but i have seen quite a few people there.

Well I went to sleep Friday night with visions of Cootes Paradise dancing in my head only to wake up and see the gas tank on empty, no problem tho.. Off to the bank I go only to find out "fkuc" they took a payment out early so fishing around home it was..

Started out The Bloomingdale ponds around 6amish, "sun" barely even cracking the cloud cover and windy as a hitch. Got to the swim I wanted to fish (just watched UK carp Fishing lol) only to find 4 beavers chilling outside their den. The beavers up past their bedtimes, plus 4“ to 5“ waves made controlling the float almost impossible and watching the rod for bites bottom bouncing were laughed at by the wind. Fished the ponds for about 4 hours pulling my loaded up kidlets Wagon behind me as I fished around the pond, only managing 1 sunfish and 3 chubbs.

Then off to St.Jacobs dam.. Much better conditions as the wind was blocked nicely. Fished both sides of the dam for. About 3 hours while only landing 1 sucker, 1 rock bass and the smallest Bullhead I have ever seen, I'd say about 4“ and that's being generous at best.

Finally ended up on the Grand just below Elora, water was high and fast but after not seeing that spot in over 15 years, its easy to see why it was always a personal favorite if mine. Skunked be the name of the Grand but can't complain because i had a blast rediscovering an old spot.

Heading back out this Sat morning before doing some pre-trout open scouting, this time I'll have more time to fish the Grand section and can have a better report on sat, hopefully some last minute pike will be had before season closes.

Fishing is generally pretty good there, weather depending of course. Bloomingdale is one of the only places I take the kidlets as it's pretty constant action. Crappie, Perch and Sunfish are almost everywhere, the smallie in my profile pic was from there, I caught a decent largemouth out of there as well, there are some really decent pike in there ( been stripped before by one, it was a tank! Only had 4lb test on going for crappies so I didn't have the stopping and holding power I wanted/needed ), carp and suckers are everywhere as well. Basically if it swims in the Grand, it should/could be in the ponds as 2 of the ponds are overflow ponds for the Grand.

sounds pretty standard for bloomingdale and st jacobs. i find the action takes till mid may-june for me.
come to think about it, the shiners are about the only thing that will bite at this time at st jacobs...
unless you use minnows...

Bloomingdale rarely disappoints with perch and crappie, my cousin and I ice fished it for the first time this "winter" and hit perch nonstop both times we got out. St.Jacobs is a whole other beast to me, maybe once I fish it more I'll understand it better..so much water, so little time lol.
