I thought I would avoid the crowds and fish only new water.I got on some of the most beautiful water I have ever seen, without seeing anyone except float boats ...caught a nice brown...but no steelhead .Fantastic 2 days ...slept in my truck beside the river with coffee over the stove on the bridge.Missed catching fish but the adventure of finding new water alone was worth it.Walked all day ...herds of deer and 4 animal skeletons 3 deer ,1 racoon ...wolves must have got 1 deer as there was deer hair every where at one site with 3 separate scatterings of hair from the same deer...probably 3 wolves....spring is in .Back soon to scout some more tribs, hoping to get some better results in the fish dept IMG_6891.JPG.IMG_6880.JPGIMG_6880.JPG

Sounds like a good opener, I did the dame thing checked out some new water caught a few browns lost a few more the girlfirend outfished me again!! But it was a beauty day to be out and I didn't see one other person!! which was the perfect topper for an opener.
As for wolves taking down the deer I'd have to say it was coyotes, The closest place I've heard of wolves in Ontario is Haliburton/Algonquin area.

Sounds right.Very exiting to see these kill sites .2 years ago in mid winter ,out snowshoeing around Kinmount, I came across a large convergence of tracks surrounding a small coulee -depression that as I neared revealed remnant blood ,bones and fur scattered over a large area .An organized hunt eventually corralling the dear into a large ditch.Fantastic image to recreate.
