I know I am new and barely been on here for 24 hours now, but we are planning a trip to Erindale park to try our luck. With all the reports of Salmon at the mouth, its only natural after the rain we hit up the park. We chose here becase for my friend its his first time we really dont want to drive 2hours for him to catch nothing.

Erindale park is close with parking and all.

I am going down tomorrow morning for a walk about with the family. might take my rod just to throw it in a couple of times. might end up talking to you if you're still there. good luck.

Sounds good man, I ll be there with another dood as well. If you see my car in the lot you know I am there. Planning on being there from 3am till 9am..... Hope to see you then. My real name is Jay

Good luck. Wish I could make it but I am of to the cottage in a couple of hours to try my luck at bass, walleye, musky, panfish and anything else that bites, and this weekend I plan on doing lots of fishing. FINALLY....woohoo

Hopefully I can make it out there soon.

Good Luck Dirk, make sure you have a report with pics when you get back.

I want to catch me some pike soon!

Did you catch anything? I've never been to Erindale so we just went out to scout it at around 5 pm and then went down to port credit.

The water seem awfully shallow there at Erindale (above the bridge), and there were no salmon to be seen in the water. Is it deeper upstream/downstream? I'm a noob at salmon fishing btw.

we got down there at 9am. the car park was packed and there were a lot of people fishing. hope you had a good time.

Got there @ 3:30 am with the parking lot half full and the water low we didnt bother taken our gear out.

I went up to Allistion had some luck.
I am going to attempt my first report tommorow.

Chances are tommorow night I will be checking out Erindale park again, I have heard a couple stories but nothing confirmed about the Credit River as of yet. I dont have a waterprrof camera so I will chance this with my BlackBerry. I am trying to hold out till black friday for a waterproof camera but might just cave before the weekend......

The fish are there for sure iJay. I got one last week, well before the dam

With this rain raising water levels there should be a masive run going on now = many more fish. I expect the rain will also make the water more choco-milky. Use a bright-coloured [chartreuse] row bag. Faster drifts as well, use more splitshot on the leader.

Yea this is what I am thinking, the water level had to have risen at least a couple of inches. I cant remeber it being that low in a long time as on saturday. I have my roe all ready to go. I would go tonight but I have a car club meet, i know I am missing out for sure, I also know there will be a ton of those die hard fishermen there now.

I am kinda going out on a limb in asking this, but I am colored (Trinidadian/Indian but I was born here) I wanted to ask if anyone else has ever encountered racism at any level while a tthe rivers? I have a couple times while @ the Credit with a CDN or white person telling me I don't belong there. I have always jsut ignored it and kept on fishing r what ever. Wondering if anyone else has ever come across this.....

Wow, sorry to hear about this iJay, a sad state of affairs indeed. I'm caucasian, but fish with friends of other ethnicities (chinese, goan, guayanese) and I've never encountered this type of treatment. I've heard about prevelant racism around the Kawarthas that, at times, has spilled into dishonourable violence. The Police are charging anyone that is linked to such behaviour and setting good precedent.

This guy seems low class to me. If in your position, I wouldnt respond to an ignouramous like that, he obviously doesnt deserve the recognition. You are in the good for not giving this arse the time of day. If I was there you better believe the guy would have gotten a serious tongue lashing from me because that stuff really p'ss's me off. If it does happen again and you must acknowledge, be polite, knowledgable and make sure you include that use of the water is public good and your lisence allows you to fish equally next to anyone. Remind him of a thing called the Charter of Rights and Freedoms signed in 1982 and that harrasment is a criminal offence; a quick call to the Peel Police would surely prove that guy wrong.

It's a shame that these attitudes are still present in Canadian society, given our multi-ethinicity is the envy of the world; his mindset is going the way of the do-do anyhow.

It's a shame to hear about the racism going on. To be honest, the black people I come across are actually the friendliest ever. Although if I do hear about any racism, it's primarily directed at East Asians like the Chinese catching and keeping even the smallest of fish. But I do believe basing anyone off race is just sad. Also I also checked out Erindale on Saturday and water was very low, but from what I hear it isn't supposed to be like that?

It is pretty shocking that racism is still this previlent this day in age, especially in a "Mutli-national" society as ours. From people saying things to just fishing over your line intentionally, even had a fish on and a guy refused to pull his line out, his buddy told him repeatidly to pull his line out of the water as my fish was almost infron of his line he responded saying "they are no-bodies, who cares" If it wasnt for my dad being there I surely woulda shown him how muhc of a noby I really am, agian didnt wanna get on his level.

Anywasy sorry about the depressing/controversial talk on here.

I was out late last nite with my car meet (230am) so I forgot my rod/gear this morning I may just go to the park to have a look.

unbelievable.
this morning at the credit, everyone seemed very friendly. lack of salmon numbers really sucked though!

was anyone able to make it out there tonite? Or maybe is there now and reading this later on in the night?
Fish?
