Hello I live in Windsor and don't have a boat i think I know all the major spots but I am just wondering if there are any I don't know about

Hey Windsor F how are ya? Welcome to OFF. I hope you enjoy all the good people here and great discussions.
I'm from Hamilton, but get down to Windsor quite often for work. I always bring my gear where ever I go but usually don't know the good spots in any area. Hope you don't mind if I send you a PM next time I am headed your way. May you can tell me a place or 2 to cast a line. If our schedules don't conflict maybe we can even get out together for a few casts.
Anyway, welcome to the board.

Alfie.

I used to live in windsor on the westside I would just go to Wallys the local bait and tackle shop they will tell ou some good spots in july theres a large run of silver bass but you can get everything in the detroit river

Hey I'm in Windsor also.

I used to have a great fishing spot on the river when I was a kid. I used to catch fish there almost any time of day or night. It is at Riverside and Langlois. There is an old brick pumphouse there and if you fish about 20-30 feet west of it and about 20 feet out in the river, there is a hole that seems to be about 10 feet deeper than its surroundings.(roughly 10-15 feet wide) I think the current swirling around the pumphouse has made a hole there. The fish seem to collect there for some reason.

I checked it out today for the first time in many years and fishing there was great as I remembered. Caught 14 fish total mostly silver bass, and one real nice pike. (about 3 pounds)

You should give this spot a try. :)

Suggest spreader, minnows, #8 hooks, 12lb line.... bring extra gear!(another person there was catching silver bass on white jigs also) If you miss the target area (the hole) you might get snagged up in bottom debris. I lost 4 rigs today in about 3 hours. :(

Hope the spot works well for you, Good Luck!

PS- Just a note... other fishermen that visit this spot have been leaving worm tubs, beer cans, and junk all over near this spot. I used to fish here when it was still mostly natural. It is a real shame to see this transformation caused by other outdoorsmen. If you visit this fishing hole, please don't leave your junk there... take it with you! Thanks, and maybe I'll see one of you there ;)

hi welcome to off,i'm a windsor fisher as well.i don't have any great spots to share but 10 or more years ago i used to go to the far westside and fish, from what i know it was a lot of private property so we would be kicked out often.from what i remember they put up a bunch of fences around that area so i haven't gone to those areas for ages not sure how they react know days.anyways usually all along the river has some fish.

I tried the spot at the bottom of Langlois yesterday, are you referring to where the tree stumps are? I did not have much luck, but it was in the middle of the day, and it was hot and sunny.
