So other then the likes of LeBaron, Bass Pro, Canadian Tire (if you want to push it), and Williams, what are other tackle shops in the city that you would recommend?

Jim

Jb's Fishing Depot awsome guy good service buy 99% of my stuff from him hes right below 401 and Kipling Ave. Sometimes angling specialties if i'm on my way down there.

Price wise, it has to be Bass City. Their selection isnt huge, but they try to compete with lebaron so their prices are even lower than lebaron's already low prices. The boss there used to run the tackle shop on midland and sheppard and he's a pretty nice guy.

gagnons sports

I make it a point to stop by there anytime I go to Oshawa.

Good to know I am in that part of the city every once and a while.

Do either of you 2 know if the Angling Specialties actually exist on 3251 Kennedy Rd in Scarborough? Google is giving that address but Street view makes it look like houses. But it ain't anyways been right.

Interesting that he ran Lucky. I've never been myself but thought about stopping by.

All along Shephard in Scarborough, there are AV Tackle, Lucky Tackle and Pro J.

In Pickering there is Tightlines and in Scarborough on Kennedy there is a store just south of Steeles around Passmore, not sure of the name.

Angling Specialties is on Kennedy but Google can't pinpoint it.

I passed by AV and Lucky today. AV is moving next week next door so to speak. So will be easy to find for any of the regulars.

Picked up a Shimano FX combo for the girlfriend today. And some soft bait, and a extra 2g float, can never have too many. Also picked up a gift for my brother's birthday.

Happen to know where exactly Pro J is?

Sheppard Ave between Warden and Birchmount. Sheppard and Bay Mills/Aragon. Across from Agincourt Autohaus in that little plaza.

They're both pretty good, but Bass City seems to carry more of the higher end stuff like curado and core reels and Kistler rods. Lucky is one of those places where I go when im about to head off and notice I'm missing some common gear like soft plastics or something. Kinda like the emergency pit stop especially since its right outside my house.

That is, or better said was, Angling Specialties, they moved to Hwy 7. I went there today.

I will check it out thanks.

Err, Somehow I was looking in the wrong direction, when I passed by.

Apparently they are open just called them up. Till 7-7:30 on weekdays. So I will have to check them out this week.

Hi,
You can also add
-Al Flaherty's
-Wilson's fly fishing outfitters
-Pollack's

a few more shops in the lower east end.. broadview/gerrad area..
There are also a few on Jane st, just south of the 401.. the names escape atm..

Dont forget Bronte's Outdoors in oakville has moved to missisauga. Right where dundas and hurontario meets. Super nice korean owner there. Im sure I will be visiting it many times this season.

is it on td bank side or towards Le Baron? if i'm in mississauga i usually go Angling Specialties but definitely wonna try this store never been there.

Went to the one at Gerrad and Greenwood, not bad for a small store, decent selection for salmon and trout. Fishing reels aplenty. Will be keeping it in mind.

I went to take a look this afternoon. Pretty good place! When I went in, there was nobody at the counter, and I could hear Tubular Bells, from The Exorcist, playing in the back room :-o

It's nice to have a tackle shop close to home. They do have a decent reel and rod selection, and a pretty good selection of lures.

I picked up few jig heads and a 2011 regulations booklet.
