So I see a lot of posts ask " what is the best"...... So I thought I would start a thread where every one can list there "dream" rod and reel combo.

So lets see them! Please be very specific... ex: Spinning, baitcast, fly etc.. Company, brand, length/power/action. Reel drag...etc...etc. Also your choice of line.

Remember any budget goes. might be interesting to see the choices :)

hmmmm..... i guess an Abu Cardinal 3, the green jobber built in Sweden, on a custom-built 5'6" old school Fenwick HMG blank, the rod of my youth, the foundation builder.... *sigh* :)

There are no perfect rod and reel combinations that suit all fish species . Steelhead for example require different combinations for float fishing vs lure chucking. Bass fishermen utilize different combinations for different techniques such as crank bait fishing or flipping.

Riverkeeper float reel paired with a sage float rod. I dont know anything about them but the hype is big around them so...I want!

All time favorite...almost everything on this from Salmon to perch.

Same...I like the zeppelin and Paine falls reels too. I hear there are some custom reels pushing two grand but I can't remember them

I see the RSG adds around never really looked into them. What a reel.

everything in the store  all jokes a side a fly road or float rod would be nice but I kind of like the good old spinning reel and I like the 9' fenwick Canadian series and as far as reel and line anything solid with a good gear ratio and the line I use would depend on what im fishing for

If I had to choose only one it would be my 7' Mitchell spiderglass 1 piece with a matching Mitchell reel and 6 lb flouro on one spool with 10 lb on the other. I got the magic stick....
