Probably a Bowfin.
A Snakehead was reported in Welland a few years ago, but turned out to be a Bowfin. Most people don't catch Bowfin and they do look sort of like a Snakehead so to an untrained eye well....
A Bowfin will chew up fish off your stringer, I have seen it.

After catching a bowfin, (once again saying) and seeing the fish that attacked the drum.. i know 100% it wasnt a bowfin. Bowfin arent coloured like that for 1. The bow i caught was further away from me than the suspected snakehead was.. and i could clearly see the fins on the underside of its body. Both fish i have seen clearly now (with the exception of the other fish's head) and the only thing similar about them was the body shape. The supposed snake head had no identifiable fins i could see moving it just looked streamline + out of both of the bows i seen.. neither had the same pattern.. their colour was nowhere as bright or similar to the fish in question.. and both took time to investigate the bait, the one i pulled in even longer than the other and didnt act agressive till it went to bite, where as the other fish came out of no where.. bit, then sat for a couple mins then left. Attitude, colour/pattern, and fins are all different. At this point .. again.. i know it isnt a snapper.. i KNOW it isnt a bowfin. I dont have bad eyesight, not colour blind and i know what i seen(also matching what i seen against the picture of both in the link i already posted.) Im now saying that 100% i seen a snakehead and karma be damned if i have to stay out there for weeks to catch the damnd thing i will. Unless it turns out to be a brightly coloured eel (which i HIGHLY doubt) then its most definately a snakehead.

If it is a Snakehead then get it out of our waters. It would be only the 2nd one captured in Canada, the other was in B.C. according to a google search, confirmed snakehead sitings in Canada.

If its a snakehead take your knife out and kill it on the spot. i think on the what was eating the drum that you had on the chain, well do you ever see mid to decent pike in there. i hope, no PRAY its not a snakehead. I can't even like to say i would like to catch one. due to they would be in my waters and the only thing we got up here that have a snowballs chance in hell are pike and muskie! interesting story, I might have nightmares.

Got that pdf saved on my phone not that i need it now :p. Theres is pike yes, but not often where i am. And it didnt look like any pike ive ever seen out of there thats why i ruled it out (that was the first thing that came to mind actually.) This is basicly the perfect breeding place for them.. and considering there in ny state.. even if it isnt a s.h (which im most confident it is).. its just a matter of time. As to update this.. stll no luck. Trying to experament with a few baits.. even re created the stringer of fish and nothing. I believe they moved slightly south out of (what im guessing) was their breeding area. Havent given up tho

I think you are right with them already in NY state it is only a matter of time before they are found in Ontario waters... I think they have been found in Wisconsin & Minnesota close to where I'm from too! not good...
