Spinning reel for 100 or less my rod is new but the cheap reel I purchessed for it locked up once it got water in it just a heads up don't buy the rapala halos so I need a new one preferably from sail since it is my local store

Personally i like the mitchell 300xe, and the abu garcia 104i. I have two of each for 1 and a half years and so far had no problems. hope i didn't jinx that :???:

I'd have to say to go with the pfleuger president, I personally think its the best reel for under 100 dollars

The spinning reel im looking to acquire for that price bracket is the Shimano Symetre FL 2500: http://fish.shimano.com/publish/con...index/products/reels/spinning/Symetre_FL.html

This reel features the same X Ship technology as more expensive reels (Stradic, Saros) but seems to weigh a little less than both and at the same time costs less.

Well they all look great and Father's Day is around the corner I think my wife is taking me to sail for a little shopping trip

Ive owned the Sahara, Symetry and the Saros. Currently I have the Sahara and the Saros as the symetre disappeared into the depths at turkey point a few summers ago. All three of the reels will get the job done for pretty much any species. There are some noticeable differences in smoothness and drag and retrieve as you go up the scale but if you are on a budget than you will be more than happy with the sahara. One thing I liked about the Saros was that it came with an extra spool as I like to have mono on one and braid on the other.

I think I have found the one it's not on the list but after lots of research ad spending a little extra I'm looking at the Daiwa Lexa any thoughts
