What spinning reel would be good to pair with a 6'6" ML Berkley Lightning Rod Shock? Currently using a twenty year old Abu Garcia Cardinal 754 with 20# Power Pro Braid.

save your self some cash and get the shimano Sedona 2500. you can get one for 60.00.

I was thinking about the Sedona too, but someone told me the Sahara and Symetre were significantly better.
I'd go with sahara over sy metre but that's just me.

Sahara over the symetre any day. Just again personal pref. I see many symetre's get returned because of pieces busted or ball bearings go.

shimano stradic, bit pricey and a okuma cs 25 along with a bass pro shops bionic bait caster
Ci4 or regular? Do you feel it's worth dropping the cash?

im a shimano guy but i have to admit there are better reels for the same price, like high end abu's or quantums

Quantum is not high end worthy. They will break on you all day. You don't even have to do anything they will just break themselves lol. I would use the new Ci4 coming out soon. priced around 280 if you have the money. Otherwise stick to some of the abu reels.
