Yeah the new Ci4 is a very nice reel...but the one you bought is a great reel you will be very pleased with its over all performance. What line are you thinking of? I have a very similar set up but my rod is Med/Fast I have the 2500 series reel and use 15 pound power pro, it casts for ever, strong as f---, I tried 30 pound also and it just didn't feel right to me. Just my feed back for you.

You got yourself a very nice reel.

I agree with always catching the ci4 is the way to go . Remember with regards to price and fishing reels you get what you pay for

I got the 3000 series on a Lightning Rod Shock ML I am thinking about trying 20 lb Suffix 832 or PowerPro super 8 slick. Presently using 20 lb Power Pro on my Abu reel.

Don't put anything more than 20 pound test of braid on a spinning reel unless its a bigger spool. ever still I would still use 15 pounds for salmon and make myself a flourocarbon leader, probably 6 pound lead.

I usually fish for bass in a river with lots of rocks and little to no weeds. Leaning towards 832 in #20. Concerned about #15 burying it self on reel. Although the Sahara's take up system spools the line in pattern which is designed to avoid burying.

Super slick is gargbage. Up to you though. To someone who uses braid all the time and knows much about it, they will be able to tell you that it is not worth it.

I agree with this... power pro is the way to go.

Honestly I use red with a 3 ft fluorocarbon leader. It helps when I pitch/flip. Other than that I avoid color braid. No reason why I would use it.
