Spoon reeling tips?

So I haven't had any luck with spoons so far. Not a single thing. All the while, fishermen right next to me are having success with a wide variety of spoons.

I am now convinced that it's my reeling style. I tend towards slower reeling (just under 1 turn a second which translates to about 2 feet/second on my particular reel) and was wondering if maybe I'm giving the fish too good a look at the spoon and exposing it for the fake that it is? Should I be reeling faster or slower? Steady or stop-and-go? Help...

i have had lots of success with trolling weed lines and structure with red devils, no luck with casting tho

I've done the watching part, but couldn't replicate. This is the asking bit..

Some time you have to cast in front or near a fish. The salmon move around alot so keep casting bud. I know it's stressful
