Personally, I've been just getting Conservation Fishing license for past few years because I been fishing less and less and I rarely kept my fishes.

i'm only thirteen so i don't have any licences, but i would like to kow the differences between sports and conservation

Sport, Just because my family loves to eat fish. I usually dont keep the limit though.
And Bala, Sport and Conservation's differeneces are the amount of fish that you are allowed to keep. But you have 5 years to go, just look at sport fishing licenses for now :)
Since you said you don't even keep fish, no need to worry at all then

so i would only need a license to keep fish, not to fish for them?

Nah you need a license when youre 18 if you WANT to fish. If you get caught wihtout one, its a fine.
The different licenses determines the limit of fish you can keep.

sport because im a tourney fisher.

and Bala, u dont need a license because u are not 18 yet. once u turn 18 u will need to purchase a license if u want to fish. until that time, u fall under the "sport" license. meaning u are allowed to keep fish with the same limits as a sport license. refer to ur regs for more information. the difference as already mentioned, is the possession limit. example, with a conservation license, u may only keep 2 bass. but with a sport u can keep 6. and it just varies through the different species of fish. but always check ur regs, whether u need a license or not, u still must abide by all the laws and seasons as well as the bait restrictions

and i allways check regs nowadays so unless i stop caring i don't think i'll fish where/when i'm not supposed to

Im 16 so dont need one yet but my brother has that sport and my dad has the conservation

I go with conservation these days. Ive got 4 kids who all love to fish so im busy fixing their lines and what not when i take them out. When i go by myself i rarely find the fish anyways!! lol.. Not alot of places around brantford where the fishing is good.. Least none that i know of.

I also have a conservation license. Usually just keep a walleye or two for dinner up at the cottage or a bass for dinner.

Heres a pic from the past of one we kept for dinner, my buddy thought it was funny to do this, head start on the BEER batter.

Dirk....

So I asked about the outdoor card and the fact card had to be replaced before I had all the stickers spots filled:

This is what I got back they basically admit it's a money grab:

Thank you for your email,Outdoor Cards are valid for 3 Calendar years. Both hunting and fishingOutdoor Cards are made the same other than the picture on the front. Ahunter can fill all the spaces on the back in one calendar year, soafter three years there are now 3 layers of stickers. Many anglers andhunters wear out the card within a couple of years so they end uprequiring a new card. The Outdoors Card fee does bring in revenue whichgoes directly into the Fish and Wildlife special purpose account. But what, praytell, is a "Special purposes account"?

hmmm...

I just hope my money all goes to the fisheries and whatnot.
