With the late winter freeze up fishing has been steady. We usually have snow and ice second week of October but we are only now getting freezing temps in Southcentral. I however have not been able to partake as work is busy. Booo, yea I know. The Kenai is still fishing well for trout and dollies as well as coho. Washed out color flesh flies and beads are working. Some reports of steelhead being caught in southcentral as well. Winter kings out in the ocean have been pretty steady. I am yet to do that, one day. Although I haven't hung up the waders for the year (I fish in mid janurary in the Kenai so dont actually hang them up....) I have been gearing up for ice fishing. Took inventory of what I got and tuned up the auger. I ice fish a lot during the winter months but do hit the open areas of the Kenai to stop the the itch to cast a fly. Always great seeing the many catches Ontario has to offer in the later months. Fish on guys!
