Rice Lake Master
Hey guys have been super busy of late, finally got my PC back so I've been getting it up and running and we have had many visitors at out cottage over the past few weeks so fishing has taken a back seat to entertaining.
I did some dock fishing on Saturday night and managed a few bluegills, a catfish and one 9+" Crappie.
Then on Sunday afternoon I finally made it onto the water with one of my friends and 2 of his kids and it isn't easy to concentrate on fishing when you are constantly setting up rods and retying lines for them. I spent 2 hours on the water and managed to catch 2 Smallies, 1 Crappie and 3 Rock Bass.
The Smallies came along one of my now favourite stretchs just of shore in about 12 FOW. I was also near 3 tournament boats at this time and I saw one boat land one and another boat lose one. It was nice to have one of the boats come over as they were leaving and ask how big it was and what I caught it on. One was a small one propbably around 14" and the other was around 17" and weighed in the 2+ lb range. It fought great on 8lb test on a 6 foot ultralight rod.
All of my fish were caught dropshotting using a Strike Zone Slammer in Smoke Shiner colour.
Fish were kept in the livewell for some pics before release.
Looking forward to hopefuly more time on the water this coming long weekend.
